Life, Lemonade and all that Jazz.

by on February 13, 2015

Bet you thought I was going to talk about Valentines Day. Honestly I was but over the past week all the commercials have kinda moved me away from the day of love, and the 5 foot tall teddy bear advertisement is just creepy. I’m just saying. 🙂 Don’t get me wrong I love Cupids holiday. My husband and I usually plan a quiet day lunch and a movie. With kids, family and responsibilities it can be hard to go out, just the two of us and sometimes heading out at night just isn’t an option.

Anyhoo, I digress getting back to something other than Valentines Day.

So I received a shock when my publisher, a great house by the way, sent out notices that they were reverting rights and  shutting down their publishing division. I say it again – I did not expect that. So here I sit with with a few books that I need to re-pub. This is a new experience for me. Seriously I have left books with pubs and literally written them off so I wouldn’t have to re-publish. Not because I’m lazy but because I set up my writing schedule in November and I make it tight. If I get a book back technically I wouldn’t work on it until the next year and that will drive someone like me crazy. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not angry and understand completely the who, what when , where and why of what happened but -ummm- yeah I was pulling my hair out for a minute at the unexpected turn. I think I  have a touch of OCD, the funny thing is it only affects my writing life.

Digressing again.

Seems life decided to trough me a few curve balls, personal issue but you know what I found me some sugar by golly and the lemonade might be tart but it’s not undrinkable. I will look back on these times and say The door was closed but the window was open and hot damn I made it across the room. With that said check out my new cover for Lucky’s Charm. I made some minor tweaks but the story remained the same.

Landis was stuck.

Sucked into another world, she searches for a way home. Lost she must depend on beings she has only ever read about in fairy tales and soon realizes just how wrong those stories were.

Even in his world it was rare to see a woman fall out the sky.

Lucky saved a lass and knew without a doubt that she was the one meant for him. She wasn’t from his world and he was a wanted elf bonded to a unicorn. Things could be worse, so he had a few issues to clear up. If it meant Landis staying he was willing to battle banshees, conquer trolls, and brave a giant’s wrath.

With a little finesse and a lot of loving, she just might be all the charm he needed.
