Can you believe, Halloween goodies appear on the shelves in September? Well at least they do here.

What are your special traditions?

The kids and I make Candy Corn Sugar Cookies and Zombie Sugar Cookies. I make cupcakes with my nephew who likes to eat all the Halloween Toppings.

Recipe

I can’t find my Zombie Sugar Cookie Pictures but here is my recipe

1 Roll of Pillsbury sugar cookie dough

Gingerbread man cookie cutter

1 cup of broken up candy corn pieces

Wax paper

rolling pin

flour

two cookie sheets

aluminum foil

Roll out the cookie dough and make gingerbread men

Place the cut outs on a foil linked cookie sheet

Once you have a full sheet of cookies mangle the bodies

strategically place bits and pieces of the candy corn into the mangled gingerbread man cutouts

Bake following the directions on the Pillsbury dough wrapper

The candy corn will melt into a puss looking goo perfect for zombie cookies.

Try making some bloody fingers!

Make long thick sugar cookies in the shape of your finger

Drizzle red frosting in a bloody pattern

Add in thin shaped white candy bark for the nail

There are so many ways to have Zombie Apocalypse fun!

We play a game called Zombieland in our house and have a night of fun watching

the walking dead!

Our friends have a party but we are firm naysayers in trick or treating. I’m sorry but what kind of parent would I be if I allowed the kids to walk up to any random stangers house and knock for candy, especially when preaching stranger danger. Instead we have parties with friends, or the teens attend Worlds of Fun Halloween Night at the amusement park where everything is super scary and actors are hired to scare the shit out of them. All safe with a pluthera of police officers and emergency personnel on duty.
