Easiest Cobbler Ever

by on July 10, 2013

Okay, I’m sure by now you’ve seen I’m all about ease when it comes to cooking. It’s not that I can’t cook something more complicated…but why when there are so many short cuts for those days when you just don’t have time.  I got this recipe from a camping trip and anything you can do in the wilderness you can do at home.

1-Dutch Oven pot (for those cooking novices it’s the big pot with a lid that you use to boil noodles)

1-box of Yellow Cake Mix

2-Cans of fruit pie filling today we’re using peach.

1-12 oz can of lemon lime soda take your pick of Sprite, 7-up, Sierra Mist or generic.

Butter-Optional

Brown Sugar-Optional

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Dump the fruit pie filling in the pot. Spread the dry cake mix on top creating a 2nd layer. If you’re making Peach I’d suggest placing a few pats of butter and sprinkling with brown sugar, this is not necessary but it good with peach flavor.  Then take the can of soda and starting from the center pour in a spiral to the outside. Place a cover on top and put in the oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
